Golden, Colo., May 27, 2025 – Hoot + Howl Spirits is Colorado’s newest distillery. Based in Golden, Hoot + Howl reimagines historical spirits and traditional recipes with exceptional ingredients, thoughtful production practices and flavors designed to elicit spontaneous outbursts of joy. A passion project led by Founder Callan Deline and Head Distiller Chris Ritenour, Hoot + Howl’s diverse approach is bringing an inventive lineup of spirits, ranging from Black Tea Liqueur to Colorado-inspired Gin, to bars, restaurants, and retailers to the Front Range.
“Our distilling process starts by seeking out and studying the recipes and methods of long-lost distillers,” said Deline. “Then we recreate, rework and reinvent them into fresh takes on historically-inspired spirits meant for mixing, sipping and most importantly, for celebrating life among friends. This is something we’ve been obsessed with for years, and we’re excited to finally share it with you.”
Hoot + Howl presents an unconventional spirits lineup:
Gin: Inspired by Colorado’s alpine landscape, this double-distilled mountain gin blends native botanicals like spruce tips and white sage with bay laurel, juniper, and other mountainous botanicals. Its rich, full-bodied profile balances herbal, floral, and citrus notes, delivering a clean, complex spirit reminiscent of an ancient tonic.
Vodka: Filtered for purity and cut with pristine Colorado water, this vodka is clean, smooth and crisp. Its subtle sweetness and silky finish make it perfect for sipping neat, on the rocks or as the foundation for any cocktail.
Black Tea Liqueur: Double distilled and infused with loose leaf black tea, bergamot peel and rich Demerara sugar, this liqueur also undergoes the historical process of tranchage, capturing the essence of a perfectly brewed sweet tea. Deep, earthy tea notes blend with hints of citrus, caramel and honey—enjoy it neat, over ice or mixed into your favorite cocktail.
Armagnac Finished Bourbon: Blended from seven-year-old bourbon and finished for one year in an ex-Armagnac cask, this whiskey is rich with layers of fruit, spice, and oak. Notes of candied fruit, vanilla, toasted almonds, and cinnamon create a bold-yet-smooth sipping experience.
Triple Sec: Double distilled and mellowed through the historical tranchage process, this triple sec crafted with bitter orange, lemon, and bergamot peels offers vibrant citrus flavors with hints of orange blossom, vanilla, and spice. Its smooth, balanced profile makes it perfect for classic cocktails or sipping on its own.
