WHAT: Nonprofit Can’d Aid and Wisconsin-based 1UP USA are partnering again to build and donate 100 bikes to the entire 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade classes at Cuba City Elementary School. Earlier this year the two organizations worked together to rack up the good vibes and became catalysts for change in their own communities through a campaign where a portion of proceeds from every 1UP USA product sold went to benefit Can’d Aid’s Treads + Trails program. The two companies share a mission of getting kids outside, on two wheels and living healthy, active lives.
Following the employee-led bike build, the Can’d Aid will host an in-person donation that includes a live demonstration by professional mountain biker, three time National Champion and the current world record holder for the Bunny Hop Jeff Lenosky to provide a few tips and tricks and to encourage the kids to get active outside.
WHEN:
Employee-only Bike Build - Tuesday, Oct. 8 from 2-4pm
In-person donation - Wednesday, Oct 9 from 2-3pm
WHERE:
Employee-only Bike Build - 1UP USA (1005 Commercial Dr, Dickeyville, WI 53808)
In-person donation - Cuba City Elementary School (518 W Roosevelt St, Cuba City, WI 53807)
MEDIA OPP: Media are invited to attend the bike build and donation event, meet the teams behind the donation, and capture the joy of the in-person donation at the elementary school
WHY: Children average 7 hours of screen time per day and only 1 in 5 gets the daily recommended amount of exercise. Through its Treads + Trails program, Can’d Aid helps combat these troubling statistics. At a time when our nation’s youth are experiencing extreme levels of anxiety, depression and mental health issues, Can’d Aid’s programs provide healthy and active outlets for underserved and at-risk children across the country.
