The Denver-based single-serve wine company sips success, doubling its team and expanding to 39 states
Denver, Jan. 6, 2021 — Wander + Ivy, the Colorado-based company distributing upscale single-serve packages of wines from award-winning, family-owned vineyards around the world, experienced 425-percent sales growth in 2020. In addition to launching its online wine shop, which now ships direct to 39 states, Wander + Ivy’s curated selection of wines is available in select retail stores in Colorado, Texas, California and New York.
As direct-to-consumer wine sales skyrocket, Wander + Ivy is the only single-serve option for wine lovers who refuse to compromise on quality. The patented glass packaging of the glam Wander + Ivy lineup set the single-serve wines apart, but the real difference is inside. Wander + Ivy partners with sustainable wine producers who use certified-organic grapes, providing a 6.3-ounce serving (one-fourth of a traditional wine bottle) that is perfect to sip with friends who may prefer different wine varietals or to pair with a meal without the worry of an entire bottle going to waste.
“Wander + Ivy elevates the single-serve wine experience,” says Dana Spaulding, certified level II Sommelier and founder and CEO of Wander + Ivy. "To pair with dinner or to offer at events or small gatherings, the single-serve option is the safest option because everyone gets their own glass of their favorite varietal.”
Spaulding, a new mom as well as a new business owner, built Wander + Ivy’s investment pool — to date she has raised more than $1.6 million — to grow and scale the business. After Spaulding gave birth in January to her first child, the company’s sales grew 425-percent year-over-year.
Growing more than just its sales, the Wander + Ivy team also doubled its size and proudly welcomed craft beverage industry veteran, Dale Katechis, founder of Oskar Blues Brewery, and Jeffrey Binder, Chief Investment Officer of Overland, to its Board of Directors.
“The proof is in the glass,” says Spaulding. “Our growth this year shows that wine lovers are ready to ditch the full 750 ML bottle for a more convenient package, but it has to taste and feel like it's coming from the bottle.”
One notable takeaway of Wander + Ivy’s growth story is the scale of its charitable donations. From the beginning, the company has been committed to giving back. In 2020, Wander + Ivy donated 1-percent of its sales to the nonprofit Colorado Feeding Kids, providing a whopping 15,000 meals to hungry children in the company’s home state of Colorado and nationwide.
