The one-of-a-kind REEB Cycles SQWEEB with a retail value of $9,000

December 8th, 2020 - Fletcher, NC - For the fourth consecutive year, the Pisgah Conservancy worked together with local cycling companies to organize a fundraising event in the form of a bike raffle called the Pisgah Project. All of the proceeds of the raffle will go to support the sustainability, well-being and betterment of the Ranger District of the Pisgah National Forest. The bike being raffled off was a one-of-a-kind full suspension mountain bike with a retail value of $9000. Built from premium components donated by this year’s Pisgah Project sponsors including: Cane Creek Cycling Components, Reeb Cycles, Industry Nine, Thomson Bike Products, Maxxis Tires, Factor Components, Hayes Brakes, and Oskar Blues Brewery tickets were on sale from October 24th - November 30th for $20 a ticket.

After a month-long effort to financially support the work of the Pisgah Conservancy; Tuesday, December 1st Andrew Slowey of Cane Creek and LaVoe Davis of The Pisgah Conservancy announced a total of $52,340 was raised this year and that Ken G. from Florida was the lucky winner of the raffle. The funds raised brings the total for 4 years of Pisgah Projects to a grand total of $139,390.

“We were completely blown away by the response to this awesome bike - The funds raised allow us (TPC) to get a lot of work done. We have been able to keep our trail specialists working in the forest as well as leverage those funds to raise others for more extensive projects.” - LaVoe Davis, Director of Development at The Pisgah Conservancy.

About The Pisgah Conservancy

The Pisgah Conservancy is a non-profit dedicated to the well-being and betterment of the Pisgah Ranger District. Pisgah National Forest is one of the most visited forests in the nation. Millions of folks visit every year and 73% of them participate in activities such as hiking, biking or horseback riding. While the forest is well-loved in terms of participation, it has long fallen short in terms of funding. There simply isn't enough federal funding to maintain the vast network of trails and amenities to high quality standards. And that's where The Pisgah Conservancy comes in‚ to maintain and grow the richness of this treasure for future generations.
