Indeed Brewing Company’s Milwaukee Pilot Brewery Releases First Bottles on Black Friday

Pre-orders open now for Milwaukee Honey Barleywine, a limited release barleywine-style ale

MILWAUKEE, Wisc., Nov. 17, 2020 --- Black Friday’s standing as a Milwaukee craft beer holiday levels up this year, as Indeed Brewing Company’s pilot brewery and taproom in Walker’s Point will celebrate the release of its first packaged beer, Milwaukee Honey Barleywine, on Nov. 27. Due to the limited nature of the release, 150 bottles will be available for pre-order here (2-bottle maximum per person) and 50 will be available for day-of purchase (3-bottle maximum per person).

Milwaukee Honey Barleywine is brewed with two varieties of locally sourced honey, a change of pace from the typical stouts released on Black Friday nationwide. Kallas Honey Farm’s White Honey is the first variety of honey used for this 12.3% barleywine. This 100% domestic, pure honey will be available for samples at the taproom for the Black Friday release.

As local as locally sourced can get, the second featured honey in Milwaukee Honey Barleywine comes from the brewery’s neighboring rooftop herb garden and apiary at CORE/El Centro. A non-profit organization offering affordable natural healing and wellness services in Spanish and English, CORE/El Centro is the selected Indeed We can non-profit on Wed., Nov. 25.

“We’re excited to join the Milwaukee beer community in celebrating Black Friday with the release of our first-ever bottled beer,” says General Manager Tim Prendergast. “We think that this huge, orange blossom honey-scented beer will be something different for those who are used to seeing big barrel-aged stouts on Black Friday. This beer, which was made with hyper-local Milwaukee ingredients, embodies our commitment to the Milwaukee community and our guests who have come to expect us to 'Think Different.’”

Indeed’s Walker’s Point taproom will be open on Fri., Nov. 27 between 11am-12am. Allie Boy’s Bagelry & Luncheonette will hold a pop-up bagel shop at the Indeed taproom between 11am-2pm, serving pre-packaged containers for consumption on-site or to-go. Social distancing measures will be enforced during the release party to ensure a safe beer-drinking experience for the release.

Milwaukee Honey Barleywine is a limited release, and pre-orders of the 750-ml bottles are encouraged for curbside pickup on Black Friday. A limited amount of Milwaukee Honey Barleywine will also be on tap in the Milwaukee taproom and available to-go in crowlers and growlers starting Wed., Dec. 2.
